Andros is known as the “Bonefish capital of the world” where fishermen worldwide flock every year to enjoy the best in fishing adventures in the flats. It is one of the top five places
in the world where you can find the deepest and most amazing blue holes. Fishermen will enjoy bone-fishing, fly-fishing, deep-sea fishing and seasonal tarpon fishing in the warm waters surrounding the island.
The land mass of Andros seems to have been especially designed to provide homes for the bonefish which live in the many bites and water inlets of the Island. Experienced and also adventurous divers can explore the many mazes of the famous Blue Holes of Andros and the Giant Staircase; or drop down into the abyss of the Tongue of the Ocean. In addition the amazingly large schools of colorful fishes that inhabit the Andros Reefs are a delight to
snorkellers and divers.
While the largest island in the Bahamas, Andros is often cited as the “largest
unexplored trace of land in the Western Hemisphere”. It is the most uninhabited
and untapped island of the Bahama Islands. There is vast room for growth
and development. The forests in Andros are thick with feathered game, a must see for nature lovers. Other activities include ecotourism tours, hiking, exploring, bird watching,
